{she crew} is an intersectional, feminist arts organization that provides free arts and education programming to girls and trans spectrum youth! We are commited to creating expressive platforms for young people to share their personal stories and grow their confidence.

All of our programming is held at the Jane Addams Hull House at UIC, and we have recieved support from organizations such as The Chicago Awesome Foundation, The Chicago Community Trust, and The Chicago Foundation for Women. We are now seeking to build our first-ever Associate Board.

The {she crew} Young Professionals' Board (YPB) is a collective of emerging professionals who may not have the budget or experience to serve on a traditional non-profit board, but are eager to volunteer their time, skills and creativity to a worthwhile organization.

The YPB is a renewable, year-long volunteer commitment. We are currently accepting rolling applications for our inaugural class of {she crew} YPB members, for a start date of summer 2018. All people of all genders and orientation are invited and encouraged to apply.

Skills & Qualifications:

All levels and areas of experience are welcome to apply! We are looking for a committed board of individuals with a range of skills and passions to contribute to our community. Please contact Kayla at if you have any questions.

{she crew} ascribes to a philosophy of intersectional feminism.  We believe that women and gender non-conforming people experience oppression through many layers whether they are based on race, orientation, gender, ability, etc. If your feminism is not intersectional, please do not apply to collaborate with us.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so submit your application at your earliest convenience. Please email Kayla Lane Freeman at if you have any questions.  We look forward to reviewing applications and meeting you!
